Quran Time!!

Our lil manha begin her journey towards reading Quran! Long time ago she became familiarize  with arabic letters  but now Alhamdulillah done with the vowel         "fat-hah".

It took me a lot of time to find a good qaida...but normally all qaida r black and white  and not at all attractive for kids!

In order to make Quran learning fun and attractive to her I make flash cards for her...
We make alphabet puzzles, explore the      letters with play dough,  learn with writing them and play with "Quran for kids" app!!

Next  step will be vowel Kasra! !

Story of "Feel" and "Ababeel"!

As we are good enough in making stories ..we craft a new story " Feel and the Ababeel".

Manha really enjoyed making elephants and the whole story of Surah Feel! Through this she got to know the terms in arabic for the elephant and the bird..this makes much easy for me to make her explore arabic vocabulary rather than make her learn through books..now she often point me out in arabic whenever she come across elephant and birds in her surrounding!

Story Time!

Manha's mama is always very bad at making stories! Tried many times times..but never come up with some good moral stories!

Then inspired by some other muslim mommies, I tried to simplify  the islamic incidents and prophets stories to her!
And  by astonishment  she not only grasp it but enjoyed it tooo...and asked me to tell her story again and again..

Our first story telling was of  Prophet Yunus and the Big whale!

We make it more creative and crafty..so  it was more fun Alahamdulillah!!

Ramadan Kareem 2016!

After having an addition in our family, manha's brother... we  were less involved in some crafting activities...but Alhamdulillah somehow managed something for manha Ramdan 2016 :)

She really enjoyed it ... also she had some concept about "Ramadan Moon",  so this year she drag me to the balcony to see the ramadan moon...

Praising Allah!

SubhanAllah!  Alhamdulillah! Allah u Akbar! MashAllah! La ilaha illal la!

One should always glorify Allah, praise Him, and remember Him in our daily hectic life so that He remember us. Allah say in Surah Baqarah,

"So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me."

I recently heard in a lecture in which it was said that when a  slave praises Him saying, SubhanALLAH, Alhamdulillah, Allah U Akbar! That person name revolves around The throne of ALLAH (SWT)! SubhanAllah..how beautiful is that!

Not only  I try to practice remembering  Him ...I strated using such praisng words in front of Manha ...with time she started saying it MashAllah! Feeling of accomplishment! :)

The funning thing is when she start a meal...after two bites she said "Alhamdulillah" -in fact "Ambdulillah" - in her language - meaning "Aami finshed" - done with the meal! :)

When she praises something she used to say "Aahaa" now she adds MashAllah too!

Upon finishing building block or finish reading or drinking milk ..she praises!

MashAllah! and Alhamdulillah! are part of her vocabulary! Again it is never too late to give exposure ..child absorbs it quickly!

Who is Allah?

Being a Muslim parent, its our responsibility to introduce Allah (SWT) to our children as early as we can! So they may have concept of the One, who is not visible to them but yet there all the time, everywhere, providing us protection and His blessings!

Alhamdulillah, successful  in introducing Manha few concepts about Allah (SWT)!

MashAllah, now she pronounces the Almighty name"Allah"!
Declares His Oneness by saying "Allah Aik Hai" and with great expressions she say "Allah har jaga hai" means Allah is everywhere!"

Obviously ..children don't understand it spiritually so early but with time, by repetition and by  being consistent...InshAllah one day they live their for the sake of The One who create them! Our role is to make them conscious of Allah all the time!!

May Allah make them Mutaqeen - pious servants of Allah!

Praying Time!!

For sure, children are copy cats! So one has to be very careful while dealing with kids!! They observe and imitate, gradually our activities will be there lifestyle!!

MashAllah!! Manha tried to imitate me while i offer prayers! Her grandparents bought her prayer mat and a lil scarf from Makkah! She pray beside me and try to copy my actions!!Sometime she also gets irritated while i pray, as i am not responding to her! But overall, it makes me feel great that Alhamdulillah she is influenced from her surrounding!

Then i tried to gave her concept of Dua. So I started reciting dua's while waking up, sleeping, entering  or exiting washroom and before or after eating etc with action and words. I say "Aameen!" aloud and ask her to do so!

This also motivates me to learn other daily dua's which i don't know myself! I hang dua cards in room in order to learn them and make her learn! Many dua stickers are available in bookstores such as Darussalam and also available free printable online!

I bought it from learning roots, indeed a great resource for Islamic stuff!!

Now Alhamdulillah  she is quite habitual of reciting dua especially before sleeping and after waking up! Loved to hear her aloud "AAMEEN!!" :)
