Who is Allah?

Being a Muslim parent, its our responsibility to introduce Allah (SWT) to our children as early as we can! So they may have concept of the One, who is not visible to them but yet there all the time, everywhere, providing us protection and His blessings!

Alhamdulillah, successful  in introducing Manha few concepts about Allah (SWT)!

MashAllah, now she pronounces the Almighty name"Allah"!
Declares His Oneness by saying "Allah Aik Hai" and with great expressions she say "Allah har jaga hai" means Allah is everywhere!"

Obviously ..children don't understand it spiritually so early but with time, by repetition and by  being consistent...InshAllah one day they live their for the sake of The One who create them! Our role is to make them conscious of Allah all the time!!

May Allah make them Mutaqeen - pious servants of Allah!

Appreciate Yourself!!

Cleaning, mopping, cooking, nursing etc... are all tedious chores of a house wife!! One should not take it as burdensome or for granted too!! But rather an ibadah! Whenever i had feeling negative about my daily house routine..the following came across my mind,

“Shall I not teach you something better than what you asked for? When you go to your bed, magnify Allah thirty-four times, glorify Him thirty-three times and praise Him thirty-three times. That is better for you than a servant.””
[Sahih Bukhari: 3502 and Muslim: 2727]

This was the Prophet Muhammad (SAW) advice to her daughter Fatima (R.A) - the leader of the women of the worlds, when she asked for a maid to help her in household chores..  SubhanAllah!

With the firm belief in Allah and for the sake of His (SWT) pleasure, if we really try to be productive - well planned where we manage time for everything appropriately, not burdening oneself ...but to give quality time to our deen, household chores, relationships, studies etc...depending upon the priorities, one can live content and happy life!!

Trial and tribulations are part of life. Allah will surely test us, that's for what we here for! But one should always appreciate oneself - no matter how little or big the task was! Weather you cooked good or  you finally find time in a hectic day for Quran or you just help your child pronouncing her first word "MAMA" , "ALLAH" whatever... APPRECIATE YOURSELF!! It really doesn't matter any one does it or not, You should value and respect yourself then pray and work  for whatever you want to achieve next!

Since my girl was born or i can say before that too, i have always been curious that what good role I can play in her life as a mother..to gave her qualitative stuff..weather its her feeding, dressing, learning etc..as i guess every mother does..but at the end of the day I feel my girl is neglected as I was busy somewhere else in house hold chores or in other stuff!! But sooner I realize Alhamdulillah by her acts or by her way of exploring world - her dealings, learning and representing herself ...makes me feel appreciated that I am playing some vital role in her life of course with Allah assistance!! We are nothing without Him! It really feels me appreciated when I blog our activities no matter how tiny those tasks are!! It makes me more positive, content and happy!!

Don't be boastful, be humble but Appreciate Yourself!! :)

Praying Time!!

For sure, children are copy cats! So one has to be very careful while dealing with kids!! They observe and imitate, gradually our activities will be there lifestyle!!

MashAllah!! Manha tried to imitate me while i offer prayers! Her grandparents bought her prayer mat and a lil scarf from Makkah! She pray beside me and try to copy my actions!!Sometime she also gets irritated while i pray, as i am not responding to her! But overall, it makes me feel great that Alhamdulillah she is influenced from her surrounding!

Then i tried to gave her concept of Dua. So I started reciting dua's while waking up, sleeping, entering  or exiting washroom and before or after eating etc with action and words. I say "Aameen!" aloud and ask her to do so!

This also motivates me to learn other daily dua's which i don't know myself! I hang dua cards in room in order to learn them and make her learn! Many dua stickers are available in bookstores such as Darussalam and also available free printable online!

I bought it from learning roots, indeed a great resource for Islamic stuff!!

Now Alhamdulillah  she is quite habitual of reciting dua especially before sleeping and after waking up! Loved to hear her aloud "AAMEEN!!" :)

Homemade Flash Cards!!

After learning some through flash cards which i bought, i made some for her!!

tree, apple, fish, kaaba, orange, sun, star

i use formic sheet and card board and lamination sheets for coating!

MashAllah, now she spell names of all of them and sort out similar objects by herself!!
She is always very keen to learn through these cards!!  :)
How little the task is..but it makes me feel accomplished by her great response Alhamdulillah!!

Body Parts!!

Our very first lessons in the world of learning!! When she was one, i helped her to explore her body parts - one of our favorite teaching topic!! She enjoys it a lot!! Have made so many videos of her on this!

Now she points body parts of her dolls, toys and  points it out on human and animal images!
It really helps in communicating  if child  is able to identify her body parts at early age!

Manha's Corner!!

Time to explore but mummies hearts are not BIG enough to gave them all space which a child terribly want!!

At least i don't have one, cleanliness is also important for me!! But at the same time ..i want her to explore, to play ,to have fun!! So, i made a corner in my room, which is her property!! She can do anything there..play, sleep, read, jump, create mess with her toy as she wants but oh yes..no scribbling - for that she has wipe and clean board!!

She loves to have her own space, where she sit on her sofa read and play!! She also invites us to her corner by saying in a very sweet tone "SIT DOWN" and "BHAITOW" - in urdu!! I am also trying to make her habit to clean her space by herself!

In future will surely make her corner more creative and colorful!!

I think, we should provide kids some space inside or outside home where they can enjoy and explore things with their fullest extent without any restrictions, rules and regulations!! After all they are children! :)

Fun with Flash Cards!!

When Manha was six month, I had an opportunity to visit International Book Fair 2013 at Expo Center, Karachi!! Yes, an opportunity because the next year i can't even imagine visiting book fair with  such a tenacious toddler!! :)

Well, Alhamdulillah, I bought so many books even  beyond preschool!!My hubby and my in laws were in shocked that what sort of books i was buying, as she was only six months..BUT, I was so excited to have them for my lil one!!

Now finally the time has come, MashALLAH, she loves to learn through books, flash cards- her all time favorite!!She sit on her own and ask me "Aami" and her "Baba" to read to her ..or sometimes she pretend reading when we are reading something besides her!!

SubhanALLAH children observes and imitates!! Its never too early to give a book to a child!!

So, we started with some books and with few flash cards!

MashALLAH, she has learn and can identify things not only in flash cards but in real life interactions as well! Also she can pronounce them, which helps her to communicate with us!!

So far she has learnt following words:

Apple, Orange, Book, Cat, Dog, Fish, Star, Sun etc through flash cards!!

It's really fun using flash cards, as she is always curious that whats next card is about! No doubt, one has to be careful like puzzles in order to keep back a complete set of cards!! :)
