First school is home!

I am always against sending children too school too early. I always feel age five is appropriate for schooling!! Early years are for children to play, enjoy, explore and learn at home with their own unstructured way!

Rather then hanging bags on thier little backs in  early morning just beacuse his/her family feels that poor kid is getting naughty day be day...he/she needs a diciplined environment that makes a lil fellow better, productive, social! Or some felt that their toddler is now able to communicate..so its high time to enroll him/her in a school!

Sigh!! these lil fellows need us ..parents attention,  love and their lil time or grandparents talks and their stories..that make them learn which they can not learn in a diciplened or structured way! Rest they can spend their day playing and exploring on their own ...just need our sometime, its just we as adults have to understand rather sending them to make them understand!

Also these were the days where parenthood is also explored ..your child make you astonished through his/ her abilities gifted by Allah and with your little effort!

In these two years, Manha made me realize that little hands have great minds MahAllah!

Praising Allah!

SubhanAllah!  Alhamdulillah! Allah u Akbar! MashAllah! La ilaha illal la!

One should always glorify Allah, praise Him, and remember Him in our daily hectic life so that He remember us. Allah say in Surah Baqarah,

"So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me."

I recently heard in a lecture in which it was said that when a  slave praises Him saying, SubhanALLAH, Alhamdulillah, Allah U Akbar! That person name revolves around The throne of ALLAH (SWT)! SubhanAllah..how beautiful is that!

Not only  I try to practice remembering  Him ...I strated using such praisng words in front of Manha ...with time she started saying it MashAllah! Feeling of accomplishment! :)

The funning thing is when she start a meal...after two bites she said "Alhamdulillah" -in fact "Ambdulillah" - in her language - meaning "Aami finshed" - done with the meal! :)

When she praises something she used to say "Aahaa" now she adds MashAllah too!

Upon finishing building block or finish reading or drinking milk ..she praises!

MashAllah! and Alhamdulillah! are part of her vocabulary! Again it is never too late to give exposure ..child absorbs it quickly!

Busy Mama, Busy Manha!

One thing that really annoys me, is to make her sit  in front of a black screen in the name of entertainment - just to make occupied while i am doing household chores!! Despite of providing her Islamic version of cartoons or educational stuff  ..but still, it bothers me a lot!

So I tried to involved her in some activities which she can do herself or when simply my eye on her works! :) Little bit successful in it but more effort needed as children easily get bored ...they need variety!

  • Painting!!

Brushing on a magic coloring book!

  • Building blocks

  • Tracing shapes.

Scribbling.

  • Stamping.

Colorful Bunties!!

On her "CHOCOOLATE" request, I gave her some colorful bunties!
And here we started our new activity -"Learning Colors!" It was fun learning colors with her! :)
Within two or three days.. she started recognizing and exploring colors!

Now she points me out colors on her books, toys etc.. Even we had this activity in cloth matket  :)

It reminds me of a chart of colors and shapes that I bought when she was only six months months old! She was extremely happy to see that and started pointing colors .."AAMI...BLUE, PINK...."

Simple stuff, simple activities but kiddo huge response makes Mom feel out of the world!! :)

What is this?

I really just fell in love with her "What is this?" in a very cute accent!

As there is an increment in her vocabulary MashAllah, we did some activity!
I drew things on a paper or on her wipe and clean board and asked her to name it "What is this?" And she named them MashAllah!!

Now she loves to do this..she asked every other person available at home and asked them to draw and  asked us "What is this? and then she named it! :)

Children has innate ability to acquire knowledge, they are motivated, curious! MashAllah!

Who is Allah?

Being a Muslim parent, its our responsibility to introduce Allah (SWT) to our children as early as we can! So they may have concept of the One, who is not visible to them but yet there all the time, everywhere, providing us protection and His blessings!

Alhamdulillah, successful  in introducing Manha few concepts about Allah (SWT)!

MashAllah, now she pronounces the Almighty name"Allah"!
Declares His Oneness by saying "Allah Aik Hai" and with great expressions she say "Allah har jaga hai" means Allah is everywhere!"

Obviously ..children don't understand it spiritually so early but with time, by repetition and by  being consistent...InshAllah one day they live their for the sake of The One who create them! Our role is to make them conscious of Allah all the time!!

May Allah make them Mutaqeen - pious servants of Allah!
